Travelbag are a specialist travel operator who offer tailor made holidays and bespoke travel services both online and through their network of high street travel shops.

The travel industry is incredibly competitive with many (if not all) travel operators having to think of additional means of generating incremental revenue from both new and existing customers over and above existing foot fall via their shops or visits to the web site.

Travelbag wanted to enhance the customer experience whilst at the same time leveraging new bookings from existing customers who had just returned from their holiday. Research had shown that the most likely and fertile opportunity to acquire secondary bookings was immediately upon return from the initial holiday.

The brief, therefore, was simple! Produce an engaging, personalised and timely communication that acknowledges the customers return from holiday but also generates an additional booking to other similar destinations.

Subsequently, one week after returning home, customers receive a set of ‘their’ holiday photos! The pack is fully personalised throughout using simple, laser personalisation methods and litho print. Each pack includes a set of progressively faded photos, the images reflecting the customers recent holiday and the fading memories. As the customer goes further through the set, the photos gain their full colour (each one still personalised) and by showing different types of location, invite the customer (on the back of the photo) to book another holiday. Simple and yet very effective.

Data is received weekly and using Ensure (our Critical Communications Management system), the packs are produced and mailed within 48hours.
